Raised with the Wild

Secret stories from Tawny Trails locations that will blow your mind. The name Running Duck Studio is more than just about the ducks. The Running Duck Studio artist was not only raised with chooks, ducks, cows, horses, goats, pigs, dogs, and cats, but also orphaned foxes, possums, kangaroos, and emus. Danielle recalls one particular memory that profoundly influenced her life.

“My father received a call from the local police requesting him to come into town. There, standing in the middle of the town roundabout, we found one of the fully grown emus that we released into the wild some 2 years prior. The recognition was still strong, and the trust allowed dad to just walk over and pick Eine up and place him in the back of the Landcruiser. And there we sat in the backseat, eyeballing an emu. Animals do remember, and the connection between animals and humans can be strong.”

And this is why Running Duck Studio’s central themes have animals and the connection we humans have with them.
