The Experience

Look at the world through the eyes of an artist:

Ocean View Estates is interested in the art of winemaking. Yes, it’s a science, but is highly influenced by the craft and tastes of the winemaker. Thomas Honnef, Ocean View Estates head Winemaker loves to produce wines with the consumer palate in mind, with well balanced acid and fruit profiles. His soon-to-be-released “Secret Stash” label is limited and luscious!

Chief Winemaker Thomas Honnef has always had an interest in good wine, growing up making wine and beer at home with his dad. Armed with a biochemistry background and raw passion, he dived head first into growing grapes and making wine as soon as business partner Cal Irons approached him with the idea. The first few years were spent working with a consultant, learning the ropes and since then has been a journey of constant learning and improving. Thomas loves that the Australian wine industry is science-based and innovative as it gives him room to experiment with different processes and techniques and find what works best in our region and climate.

Location, location as they say. Why not grab a sketch pad and picnic blanket, find a beautiful space amongst the vineyards and see what inspires you. Ocean View Estates will package your food to go with your picnic. If the art of wine interests you why not come back and book a Behind the Scenes Experience.

Fine wine and great food are some creative living indulgences. Wine can help you relax if creating is stifled and stressed. Another option is to book Tawny Trails Sip & Pour or Paint & Sip and see what it’s all about
