Most Popular Picnic Locations

1. Dahmongah Lookout Park in Mount Mee(North) is a beautiful spot with stunning views of the surrounding countryside, including the Glass House Mountains.

2. The Gantry in Mount Mee(North) is another great spot for a picnic, with a large grassy area and picnic tables. Though it can get quite busy, there is always ample space to spread a rug. wheelchair access (may need assistance) MORE INFO

The Piccabeen Walk is an easy 1km loop through a beautiful mix of eucalypt and subtropical rainforest, usually taking 20-30 minutes

The Somerset Trail is a 13km class 4 walk through open-forest, pine-forest and pockets of rainforest usually taking no more than 3 to 4 hours

The Rocky Hole is a Rock pool only accessible via 4WD. Though a gorgeous spot, it can get quite busy. Best for an early morning or late afternoon dip. MORE INFO

3. Maiala, D’Aguilar National Park (South)is a large popular Day use area with free BBQ’s tables, shelter, toilets, wheelchair access (may need assistance) MORE INFO

There are several tracks, we recommend:
Rainforest circuit is a relatively easy 2km walk through lush Subtropical Rainforest usually taking around an I hour to complete
Greenes Falls track is a 4.3km walk Suitable for most ages and fitness levels, through lush verdant forest, featuring crystal-clear pools, strangler figs, abundant wildlife and a small cascading waterfall. usually taking around 2 hours.
Phoenix Sculpture Garden a short walk through a world of exquisite sculpture  nestled amidst the lush rainforest of Mount Glorious MORE INFO

Best Kept Secret Picnic Spots

1.Ocean View Estates (North)Picnic in the vines(Great kept Secret). The winery not only has ready to go picnic package options, but award winning wines to go with them. MORE INFO

2. Apex Park On the Right Just before Dayboro at the North pine River Bridge (middle) leafy green park, Toilets, BBQ’s sheltered table and chairs. Head right down the back under the big trees. Access to the water here and under the bridge

3. Kobble Creek is just before Dayboro(middle) (Great kept Secret) is a grassy recreation area at Lake Samsonvale. You can enjoy a picnic or fish from the shoreline if you have a permit. (No facilities)

Explore the surroundings
Postman’s Track Trails is a 7km long trail with gorgeous views and a moderate challenge for cycling & walking. Horses trail riders also use this track. The track is split into two marked trails Blue (the easier section) and Red (more hills), with a White trail shortcut joining the two.
